Along with the daily readings from the Old and New Testaments and the Gospels, morning and evening Psalms are recommended for each day. In doing so, you will read through the Psalms each month. There are no Psalm readings for months with 31 days. Day 31 may be viewed as a catch-up day, if needed. However, February means reading a little ahead or only reading through Day 28 or 29, then beginning with Psalm 1 again on March 1st.

Join us for Morning Prayer in the chapel (well, in the counting room until the construction is finished), Monday through Friday at 8:30am, where we read and discuss Scripture and pray together as we pray through Matins and for the people on our Prayer Needs list. Our readings are from the Daily Lectionary in The Lutheran Book of Worship. We recommend For All the Saints, a four-volume set that includes all the readings for the two-year cycle from the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. Alternately (or additionally) you may click here for a list of the weekly readings that includes a fourth reading from outside the Bible that ties together thematically each day's readings.
